Going Beyond the End of Life
In 1994, Interface recognised carpet was a growing environmental concern, and started revolutionising the way carpet is manufactured and recycled.
We set a goal that we call Mission Zero®, our promise to eliminate any negative impact we may have on the environment by 2020. Critical to achieving this goal is our ability to reduce our reliance on non-renewable raw materials. Driven by this knowledge, the ReEntry carpet recycling program was conceived.
The Countdown to Mission Zero®
With less than 10 years to go, we're asking you to be part of this significant achievement and join us in the War on Waste.

We're Serious about Sustainability.
- We've invested in technology - to close the loop on raw material extraction for the production of new carpet tiles, through our recycling program ReEntry™.
- We've diverted from landfill - more than 100,000 tonnes of carpet
- We even accept competitor products - for recycling, subject to material compatibility
- We've partnered with our yarn supplier – to increase the recycled content of our yarn fibres (100% recycled)
- We invested in LCAs and EPDs – to focus our sustainability initiatives where they can achieve the greatest environmental benefit
How Serious Are You?
There are a few simple things you can do to reduce your environmental footprint. You don't need training and it won't cost you any more.
- Be Informed - for more information on sustainable manufacturing of carpet tiles, download your guide to The War on Waste.
- When refurbishing - send us your old carpet tiles for recycling and reduce your footprint.
- When purchasing - be wary of claims made on product labels. To be sure of a product's environmental footprint, request an EPD which reveals the impact of a product across a number of environmental categories.
- Join the war on waste - with at least 5000 garbage trucks of commercial carpet going into landfill each year in Australia and New Zealand, specify ReEntry™ recycling and close the loop on non-renewable resource depletion. Click here for a ReEntry™ Take Back and Recycling Specification
