Davenport Campbell: A Sense of Fun and Adventure

Davenport Campbell showcased a sense of "Fun and Adventure" at the Representations Gallery - InterfaceFLOR at Saturday in Design on 1st August 2009. This exhibit was built in conjunction with Interstudio and Anchovi. Design team:Suzana Keca, Peter Wager, Samantha Cusack, Jonathan Verzosa.

Davenport Campbell: Design Statement - Fun & Adventure

We have designed a carpet for the inner child. Inspired by hours spent on the school oval waiting for your turn at tunnel ball, Davenport Campbell has created a carpet to promote a close up and inquisitive experience.We have used the carpet as part seating, part looking and part learning. The floor becomes the grass and within it, the micro insects that make up our world.

Children can sit, look and learn while still enjoying the basic function of a floor finish. The sense of adventure carries through the carpet and out onto walls, tables and chairs. The Davenport Campbell design is not just to walk on, it is to pause and observe the world around us.
