Woods Bagot: Design Statement - The Unexpected
Carpet tile is flat. We expect it to be flat. But the Woods Bagot installation is an exploration into the unexpected. An attempt to create what isn't from what is. Our carpet is designed to demonstrate movement and depth. It's intent is to distort the observer's perception of the space and it's inherent flatness. Carpet tile is designed to be walked on but for this installation we have designed it to be watched like as series of undulations over short distance, to be sat in and to be celebrated as both an artistic subject and medium.
